Full Frontal - The Best Of Dylan Rosser
The handsome, nude man crouching on the cover of Dylan Rosser’s new book, "Full Frontal", provides a taste of what awaits inside: Plenty of perfectly sculpted male models with bodies as naked as the day they were born -- but with significantly larger winkies.
Rosser, originally from South Africa, is a smart, talented photographer who has been capturing the male form for the past 15 years and has put together yet another stunning collection of men for his latest tome.
The 160-page book features a racially diverse group of men, none of whom are wearing anything other than a light spritzing of oil and some dramatic lighting. Many boast tattoos and piercings, and a few also sport rather tragic hairstyles, but that’s probably to be expected of any group of twenty-something fashionistas.
The settings and situations of Rosser’s shots are fairly spartan. He uses virtually no furniture, clothing or props to speak of, and the backdrops of his photos are plain and uncomplicated.
Some of the men in "Full Frontal" are a bit too coiffed and pretty for this reviewer’s taste, but they all have spectacular bodies. Most look like runway models posed to brooding perfection rather than more natural, everyday handsome men. Aside from the occasional happy trail, body hair makes few appearances in this tome.
While most photos in the book are solo shots, there are several pictures of couples embracing and touching each other. While two well-sculpted bodies clutching each other close is usually quite erotic, the duos in the book seem completely posed, and lack any real passion.
Also, it’s odd that only about 40% of the photos in a book called "Full Frontal" actually show the full monty. While crotch shots are by no means necessary for showing the beauty of the male form, a book with this title would normally be expected to be a bit more of a schlongfest.
The men who do bare all are generously genitalled, and their copious cocks, both cut and uncut, are shown both at rest and ready for combat.
Making several appearances in the book are British porn stars Paddy O’Brian and Adam Coussins, aka David Jones; however in the version of the book this reviewer was provided, none of the models is credited by name. I guess we’ll never know who some of those pendulous appendages actually belong to (but I’m sure they’ll look simply splendid on my Grindr profile...).
Fans of gorgeous young men beautifully photographed should love "Full Frontal," but this reviewer would have preferred more natural, less primped men with a bit more edge and a lot less attitude.
