"That Awkward Moment" brings testosterone to the realm of romantic comedies. With a uniquely male bent, this buddy comedy finds a trio of friends struggling to define and navigate relationships. The film is somewhat uneven plot wise but by the end all of the characters are still pretty likable.

Ultimately it’s a funny and heartfelt film, but the bonus features are a little lacking. The bonus features feel overly produced and don’t add much to the film at all. If the gag reel is bad that’s saying something.

The film is a bit uneven. Zac Efron, Miles Teller, and Michael B. Jordan have great chemistry, and it helps that they’re hot. It also has captured some of the intimacy issues some men face in relationships. The three friends make a pact which feels really forced and doesn’t mesh with the what’s great about the film.

The Blu-Ray of the film has special features but they don’t add much to the film.

The Blu-Ray of the film has special features, but they don’t add much to the film. For a comedy, the gag reel is pretty boring and mostly includes alternate jokes. The "making of" featurettes air on the boring side. They are overly pushy and marketing oriented. There are trailers that are character profiles. The two featurettes are almost indistinguishable and focus on the actors’ connections during filming. They all do have great chemistry, but the segments feel dry and don’t add much to a generally entertaining film. It’s disappointing that there weren’t any extended or deleted scenes especially considering how sexy the leading men are.

"That Awkward Moment" is a fun male alternative to Katherine Heigl movies. However, the Blu-ray doesn’t have bonus features that add to the appeal of the film. The film is fun, but the bonus features are on the snoozy side.
