Kevin Costner isn’t having a very good day. In the action flick "3 Days to Kill" he plays a deadly government spy who is handed one of the most dangerous missions of his career...he’s tasked with minding his estranged daughter in Paris, while dodging one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist agents --┬áhe’s also been dealt a death sentence. Faced with a rare type of brain cancer, Ethan (Costner’s agent) has allied himself with a mysterious CIA operative played by Amber Heard, who has a miracle cure to what ales him.

Suddenly faced with his own pending mortality, the really important things in life are taking shape right before his eyes, but before he can heal the relationship between himself and his teenage kid (Hailee Steinfeld) he has to make one more hit. But if the international ring of death-dealers doesn’t do him in, then maybe the parent-teacher conference will; if a squad of goons doesn’t have him in his sites, Ethan has his on the senior class Romeo. Cheerfully toting the line between shoot ’em up thrill-ride and adventure comedy, "3 Days to Kill" is a fanciful jolt given that Costner is happily stepping back into leading man roles -- even as unconventional as this.

The cast is among one of the best and sharp-edge assembled and fight-sequences are equally parried alongside the tender father-daughter bonding moments, making "3 Days to Kill" worth killing time to. Landmark moment: watching Costner’s dad crash in on his daughter’s escape to the local hot club on a school night!

Presented in startling high-definition Blu-ray, "3 Days to Kill" isn’t loaded with bonus features, save for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie, but it does include 2 versions of the film -- the theatrical and extended cut with more packed in from the mighty director McG.
