What’s wrong with music today? It’s missing the personality that was at one time extremely prevalent and ensued forth from the radio - you knew exactly what to expect two beats into a track. Even during the 90’s advent of dance music there were the leading chart-topping pop artists like Michael Jackson and Madonna that everyone followed closely, but then there came colorful acts like TLC and Deee-Lite that just demanded our attention. When the labels started manufacturing and catering acts to the "TRL generation", with the exception of only a couple standouts among them Christina Aguilera, P!nk and Beyoncé -- that’s when music started to take a significant turn. Personality started to matter less and less.

Along comes Karmin and perhaps the redemption that is very necessary in today’s largely saturated market of mediocrity. The duo’s latest album "Pulses" exudes with the the eclectically charged power necessary to make it pop from the rest of the pop currently popping! Karmin is helping to restore that missing element from today’s electro-synth concoctions, and taking themselves not all that seriously -- Karmin is making radio pop "fun" again!

Though the album starts off with some very hard-driving beats. "Acapella" and the album’s title track are relentlessly head-banging. The beats soon give way to some smooth dance reminiscent of 70’s disco. "I Want It All" has all the bump and grind to make it one of the most enlightening songs of the summer. "Night Like This" is a very contemporary anthem -- it blends elements of dance and pop with an infectious hook that is impossible to let go of.

Karmin’s "Pulses" is an appealing enough concoction with the repeat listenability necessary to make it a memorable find. Just listen to their very popular "Hate to Love You" which is every reason why they should be heralded as the act that saved pop radio from itself -- do the time...you won’t mind! You’ll just hate to love them!
