The trio known as London Grammar have their work cut out for them. In a pop world mostly dominated by derivative pop, the UK based group is offering the audiences an unmatched aural experience on their first full-length album project. They’ve named their debut offering "If You Wait" and that titular track reveals a lush narrative demanding that the listener immediately take action. Procrastination is not tolerated here!

With Hannah Reid’s vocals powerfully emoting alongside the instrumentation of bandmates Dot Major (drums and keyboards) and Dan Rothman on guitars, the band delivers some delightfully haunting melodies prominently most on the album’s opener "Hey Now" and "Nightcall." Stepping it up some on the track "Wasting My Young Years" (which was featured on their introductory EP earlier this year), the band returns to that very deliberate call to action of immediacy in their lyric - all the while evoking a rich familiarity with electronic rock from the late 80’s.

Uncompromising their unique blend of acoustic instrumentation and electro-synth programming, London Grammar comes out winning although not entirely embracing the overly commercialized path of EDM, but their collaboration with Disclosure "Help Me Lose My Mind" is proof that London Grammar is capable of embracing a dance trance vibe that will easily endear them to the lounge club scene (i.e. "Stay Awake"). East village hipsters are already wondering why more haven’t been seduced by this band’s sonic sensibility.

It’s apparent on dramatic tracks like "Sights" and "Flickers" that "If You Wait" is only the beginning of a bigger musical picture. If you wait...you will be lost. London Grammar is creating a provocative and melodic experience, warm and enchanting. Don’t wait.
