"The Simpsons: The Sixteenth Season" includes 21 episodes from 2004/5, when the longest-running prime-time sitcom celebrated its 350th episode.

The 3-disc set cover features Professor John Frink, and the enclosed show guide includes pseudo-scientific flow charts. Writer, actor and director audio and deleted scene commentary are included with every episode.

Favorite episodes include "Treehouse of Horror XV," consisting of "The Ned Zone," "Four Beheadings and a Funeral," and "In the Belly of the Boss," wrapped with the theme from TV’s "Perfect Strangers." "All’s Fair in Oven War" features guest voices James Caan and the reclusive Thomas Pynchon, and Kim Cattrall guests on "She Used to Be My Girl." Disc 1 extras offer Frink’s "Greetings, Junior Scienteers!" intro, plus a sketch gallery and Lisa’s wedding bonus episode.

Listening to the indelible voice creations by the dearly departed Marcia Wallace and Phil Hartman is especially poignant.

The second Blu-ray has Eric Idle on "Fat Man and Little Boy," and 2005’s "There’s Something About Marrying" storyline, which shows legal gay marriages years before they became a reality outside of Massachusetts. "Goo Goo Gai Pan" has Robert Wagner in a menopause movie, Lucy Liu as a strict adoption agent, and Patty and Selma living in the Spinster City apartments. This disc also has a sketch gallery, Maggie’s "The Longest Daycare" extra, plus language features in Portuguese, Italian, Czech and Hungarian.

Episode 15, "Future-Drama," includes Amy Poehler and John DiMaggio in a "Futurama" Bender cameo. Other celebrity speakers in disc 3 are Stephen Hawking, Ray Romano, Jason Bateman, Liam Neeson, and bands Baha Men and Los Lobos.

Listening to the indelible voice creations by the dearly departed Marcia Wallace and Phil Hartman is especially poignant.
