Organic Protein Powder
I am a regular user of protein powder. Daily I use whey protein, usually in isolate form since it is easiest for the body to process, digest and immediately put to work in the body. I love it post-workout for recovery.
At night I am a casein protein fan. It is slow digesting and helps prevent muscle loss throughout the night and those long non-eating sleeping hours.
I never really thought about where my protein was coming from though. Although I knew the different types of protein, I never thought about getting organic protein. I usually opted for natural, but organic and natural are not fully defined by the FDA and USDA.
Once I started to think about where my protein was coming from, I realized something. Protein powder is a derivative from milk, which mainly comes from cows. I do prefer healthier cuts of meat, especially from grass fed cows. So it made sense to get my protein from the milk of grass fed cows.
I stumbled upon The Organic Whey, a small nutrition company that produces a USDA certified organic whey protein that’s healthy for you and the planet.
How could I argue with getting a better strain of protein and also from a company that is vested in reducing its carbon foot print?
Well I easily could if the protein didn’t taste good. Taste is still of utmost importance followed by type and concentration of protein.
A few key reasons as to why organic protein is better include the following:
Sourced 100% from grass-fed cows on sustainable family farms in the USA
If you are not sold by these benefits, try it yourself. I think you’ll be happily surprised.
