'Skyfall' jumps the gun.

The clever marketing ploy to release Adele's title-tune vocal of the new James Bond film "Skyfall" was co-opted when the video was leaked.

According to MTV, the song was "originally slated to drop at 0:07 London time (which in U.S. time is at 7:07 p.m. ET) on October 5. However, a French radio station let it out of the bag a little early."

It didn't take long to go viral.

"I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song ... there's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a 'Bond' song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track, and it ended up being a bit of a no-brainer," Adele said in a statement on Monday. "When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day."

The song was recorded at London's Abby Road studio with a 66-piece orchestra. Producer Paul Epworth said ""Adele's performance is really jaw-dropping.

"The initial chords happened quite quickly, but we spent a few months shaping it, tweaking it," he continued. "A song like this has to have a gravity and dynamic rather than [be] an instant pop song. Hopefully it's got lasting value."
