Stan Lee's Superhumans - Season One

JC Alvarez READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Sure we all imagine at one time or other that we have superpowers. Everyone wants to wall-crawl like Spider-Man and we've all donned a cape and took to the sky wishing we could fly like Superman, but as much as we were reminded that our favorite heroes were make believe, how could we have known that somewhere in the world there existed folks with genuine superpowers!

Stan Lee the legend behind Marvel Comics has teamed up with Daniel Browning Smith, himself a human rubber band able to contort his body, to search the world for individuals with incredible abilities. Browning Smith's travels take him to India where he meets a man that can channel dangerous levels of electric current...enough to cook an entire breakfast! Be warned: Kids should not try this at home! Along Browning Smith's additional journeys he recruits the world's strongest man - able to bend steel with his hands, and a human calculator that can decipher any mathematical equation in seconds.

It's a truly extraordinary exploration of incredible feats - when the superhumans are themselves scientifically tested as in the case of one particular blind man who can "see" using radar - to learn exactly what the human body and mind are capable of.

"Stan Lee's Superhumans" is simple and fun...it's vastly more appropriate for a younger audience that will be wowed by each one of these real life and living mutants, but sadly there is no secret school in the suburbs where these characters are being prepared to repel alien invasions or armies of out-of-control robots. That stuff only happens in the comic books...these superhumans are really just like you and me - they can just do stuff that doesn't require CGI effects or Ryan Reynolds in a skintight suit - now that would be nice!
