PopUps: Ryan Murphy Hints at 'American Horror Story' Crossover Season

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, "American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy discussed plans for a crossover season between "Murder House" and "Coven."

Though the season won't be coming this year, Murphy said the installment is "very bizarre."

"It's a character from season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of 'Coven,' which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy," Murphy told EW. "And then all of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3. Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters."

Last October, Murphy first revealed the crossover season during the Ryan Murphy and Friends panel at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest event.

"We do know what we're going to do," Murphy said. "It's not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that's a crossover between 'Murder House' and 'Coven' together, which is very bizarre."

"AHS" will return for its seventh season this fall. In addition, FX picked up the anthology series for two more seasons, meaning the show will run through 2019.
