READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Drag queen Ada Vox's journey on "American Idol" has ended.

Despite often making headlines and slaying the show's three judges (Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan), who saved her from elimination just last week, Ada was not voted into the top 7 by "Idol" fans and viewers.

Ada, 24, was eliminated on the singing competition show's Disney Night after she gave a powerhouse performance of "Circle of Life" from "The Lion King." She was one of three contestants who didn't earn enough votes to make it from the top 10 to the top 7.

"Although America might not be ready for people like those of us who are a little bit different," Ada told The Huffington Post before her elimination, "I think it's very important that our talents be recognized."

After being eliminated, Ada spoke with E! News.

"I feel great, quite honestly. I feel like I did everything I needed to do up until this point. I made my mark on the world on the show, and I think I've made my mark in the music industry as well," she said. "I am so ready to just get home and start working. The real work begins after this."

While speaking with E! News, Perry crashed the interview and made it clear how big a fan she is of Ada.

"Thank you for believing in me, sweetie," Ada told Katy.

"I'll see you around... I'll see you around the circuit as well," the "Rosa" singer said. "Trust and believe this is not the end of us. This is a duo that's going on the road."

"I believe in you Ada," Katy sang.

"I believe in you Katy," Ada sang back.

Ada, a.k.a Adam Sanders of San Antonio, made headlines back in March when she auditioned for "Idol" and explained how she made the top 50 back in 2013 on Season 12. After being cut from the show, she said she was bullied for her size and sexuality.

"It killed me almost as much as the people who were telling me that I should kill myself," she said. "Through all of the negativity, I have managed to build myself up as a new person, a stronger person. I have recreated myself in ways that I could not have imagined.

"I am so ready to show everybody, to show all of America, to show these judges, who I am now, and I can take anything and everything that comes my way," she added.

Last week, Ada did not earn enough votes to progress to the top 10 on "Idol" but the judges made an unexpected move and saved her from going home.
