Former President Donald Trump seems to love the Village People, but the Village People don't share the same feelings.

As reported by TMZ, the embattled Republican presidential candidate was hit with a cease and desist order on Monday after video surfaced of him dancing to a Village People tribute band at his Florida Mar-a-Lago resort.

According to an attorney representing the Village People's interests, the group did not like the implication that they are Trump supporters. Since the video was posted, the wife of band member Victor Willis said the group has had to clarify that they are not the group seen in the video and they are not aligned with Trump.

As expected with anything to do with the Trump team, they did not take the rejection well.

Trump's attorney, Joe Tacopina, issued a statement to TMZ saying that they will "only deal with the attorney of the Village People, if they have one, not the wife of one of the members."

Further Tacophia said that the group should be "thankful that President Trump allowed them to get their name back in the press," he said. "I haven't heard their name in decades. Glad to hear they are still around."

As much as President Trump likes to present that he is a macho men, the Village People seemed to have struck a nerve.
