Wreck-It Ralph
Disney’s Oscar nominated terrifically entertaining video-game adventure "Wreck-It Ralph" blips onto Blu-ray this month for young and old to enjoy. Okay, not so much the older-older crowd who won’t understand pretty much all of the video-game references. But for those middle-aged and under, "Wreck-it Ralph" is a charming and clever adventure about learning to fit in and overcoming society’s expectations. Starring John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman as the voices of Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz respectively, the Blu-ray offers a crisp transfer that looks just as spectacular as it did on movie screens.
Offered in a 4 Disc Combo Pack, Disney has packaged the film with both 3D and 2D versions on Blu-ray, the DVD, and a digital copy. The 3D is stunning, particularly in the wide shots where you get a full view of the world the magicians of the film have created. The Special Features lack a little here, which is surprising giving Disney’s usual habit of overstuffing their releases with every extra imaginable. Here, you can whip through the features in under and hour.
Overall, the film itself is worth the price and if you have a 3D TV, the 3D version is an added plus. Special Feautres are slim but the bonus of "Paperman" is worth it.
