Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver announced today Milk is among the 38 people who will be inducted into the California Hall of Fame at a Dec. 1 ceremony in Sacramento; activists used the announcement to once again lobby for passage of a bill Schwarzenegger vetoed that would designate May 22 Harvey Milk Day in the state’s schools.

The American Civil Liberties Union on Wednesday threatened to sue a San Diego County school that refused to let a student present a report on slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk until her classmates got their parents’ permission to hear it.
