In Boston, the range of gay fathers extends to married men trying to maintain their relationship with their kids while ending the one with their wife, single gay dads looking for help, and those hoping to start a family via adoption or surrogacy.

A Texas professor who published a controversial study about gay parenting admitted his research is flawed but still stands by his findings that children from same-sex couples are worse off than children from straight parents.

The University of Texas found that a faculty member did not commit scientific misconduct when putting together a controversial parenting study that claimed children of gay parents were more prone to dysfunction as adults.

A paper claims that same-sex couples do not make as good parents as heterosexual couples, despite 30 years of research that says otherwise. Many LGBT rights groups and scientists have criticized the study, which they see as deeply flawed.

The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from a gay couple who want both of their names to appear on the Louisiana birth certificate of the child they adopted.

"It’s a relief to read about other kids with two moms," commented one child. According to the 2010 census, children with same-sex parents live in 96% of U.S. counties.

In Louisiana, a court will decide whether only one man can to be listed on adoption papers, while the man who successfully challenged the state’s gay adoption ban officially became a legal parent.
