In honor of Black History Month, EDGE highlights Baltimore’s events and exhibitions that pay tribute to the African-American men and women who helped shape the nation.

A gay man from Baltimore, Md., who was attacked outside a liquore store on Christmas Eve said the five men did it because he is gay.

A gay man from a Baltimore suburb was shot and killed Friday morning on the front steps of his home. The incident has shaken the small, wealthy neighborhood as authorities say they will increase security.

Ajit Kapur pleaded guilty to assault and hate crimes charges on May 11 in connection with an attack against Seattle resident Richard Tso in a Baltimore hotel last August.
