Officials from the University of California, Berkley are considering passing a measure that would ban the Salvation Army from its campus due to the organization’s anti-gay policies.

Despite the Salvation Army’s wholesome and accepting image, the organization has discriminated against gays and has even turned away homeless men for being homosexuals.

In spite of a teacher’s complaint against the Salvation Army’s anti-gay policies, a Mill Creek, Wash., high school continues to collect food and donations for the charity.

The Swedish Salvation Army says that gays are sinners who can be "cured" of their homosexuality. That claim has also been made by other branches of the global relief organization.

Greg Stair, a teacher at Everett High School in Everett, Wash., continues to urge officials to not allow the Salvation Army into the city’s public schools because of what he describes as the charity’s long-standing anti-LGBT policies.
