GetEQUAL responded to yesterday’s vote by the North Carolina State Senate to send a homophobic state constitutional amendment to the voters in May 2012, by issuing lawmakers and leaders a blunt warning: "We will no longer accept state-sponsored hatred."

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Saturday he supports a federal limit on gay marriage and thinks a creator put life on Earth.

A local newspaper in Batesville, Arkansas, excluded all reference to a surviving life partner in the obituary of a gay man who died earlier this month. Now, the Human Rights Campaign has joined the ensuing protest.

The next presidential election is a year and a half away, and the campaign season is well underway. The latest sign was the June 13 New Hampshire debate among seven Republican contenders for the GOP nod to run in 2012.
