After vowing to pass Uganda’s controversial anti-gay law, the country’s Parliament speaker was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI when she went to Rome to attend a human rights conference.

Uganda parliament says that the East African country’s controversial "kill the gays" bill could be passed before Christmas as government officials are set to debate the measure any day.
