The Dinah remains the season’s biggest all-girl party that descends on Palm Springs. This year, the party has teamed up with the Human Rights Campaign to celebrate our continuing civil rights movement.

Lowes Hotel hosted the HRC Philadelphia Region Gala Dinner. Featured speakers were MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and HRC President Chad Griffin. The evening’s highlight was a performance by ’80s teen idol Tiffany.

More than 900 people gathered at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on Feb. 2 for HRC’s Make Equality Count Greater New York Gala Dinner, honoring Whoopi Goldberg with the Ally for Equality award.

The Human Rights Campaign celebrated President Barack Obama’s reelection at its inaugural ball, Out for Equality, on January 21 in Washington D.C.

Although Colorado Springs received a failing grade on HRC’s Municipal Equality Index for LGBT inclusion, many community organizations are working hard to make the area a safer and more welcoming place.

Whatever the outcome on Tuesday in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota & Washington State, volunteers & organizations gave it their all in the most determined push for gay rights on one election day in our lifetime.

Being LGBT-inclusive and welcoming is not only the right thing to do morally, it’s also good for business. The HRC’s Corporate Equality Index outlines benchmarks for good practices, and corporate leaders admit it has helped their bottom line.

A recent HRC Health Equality Index report indicated that eight of Boston’s 11 area hospitals got a perfect ranking as leaders in LGBT healthcare equality, with two others suffering from being too literal in their responses.

From avoiding the issue a few years ago, the vast majority of U.S. healthcare providers are actively committed to seeing LGBT patients treated with courtesy, respect & dignity, as well as specific training, according to a Human Rights Campaign study.

The anti marriage-equality group, the National Organization for Marriage, is calling for an investigation after the IRS allegedly leaked tax information to the Human Rights Campaign that Mitt Romney donated ten grand to the group in 2008.
