Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson?

'Twilight' TV Series Under Development

Emell Adolphus READ TIME: 1 MIN.

In 2011 Ellen Degeneres met with the "Twilight" cast and pitched herself as a character in the franchise. Should she be part of the tv reboot?

A whole new generation of sparkly vampires are coming to shine on the small screen.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate Television is looking to develop Stephenie Meyer's best-selling "Twilight" series for TV.

No word on where exactly the series will call home, but it could end up on Starz or HBO Max, which is soon to be just Max.

Attached to write the script for the show is Sinead Daly, whose credits include Tell Me Lies, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Raised by Wolves, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and The Get Down,

THR reports. Up for questioning is whether the series will be a remake of Meyer's books or a complete offshoot.

There is no timeline for when the Twilight series will be up for bid by potential buyers, but Meyers is expected to be involved in the adaptation.

Twilight is a major piece of intellectual property for Lionsgate studio. In 2017, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told Wall Street during an earnings call that "there are a lot more stories to be told, and we're ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories," in reference to both Twilight and The Hunger Games franchises, THR reports.

Now the big question: who will be the new swoon-worthy Edward Cullen.
