As the United States inches closer and closer to legalized gay marriage across the country, we can’t help but think of Valentine’s Day as a celebration of unions for everyone.

In honor of the first Valentine’s Day in a post-DOMA world, EDGE offers suggestions for gifts and experiences meant for couples in love. But these aren’t the teddy bears and mystery-filled chocolates of Valentine’s Days past. Put some spark in your romance with thoughtful presents that allow you and your loved one to celebrate your unique relationship.

A well-fitted suit is a necessary component of any stylish and professional wardrobe. Nothing beats a well dressed man (or woman) in a fully tailored suit. The best way to nail the look is with a custom, bespoke suit made to your exact measurements. But this type of suiting can be very expensive. What a fantastic opportunity to treat your significant other to a fashion piece they may never get around to buying for themselves. Here are our picks for best dressed:

Denver Bespoke

Denver Bespoke

Denver Bespoke originated as a men’s source for custom suiting in Denver, Colorado, but received a lot of women requesting suits, too. "The women’s suit business gets larger every year (very possibly because of changing laws). As it is, we sell more women’s suits for weddings than we do dresses each year," says co-founder Lianna Kachmar.

Kachmar advises on some key traits for women looking for suits. "We specialize in more feminine style suits with a highly fitted look. So no boxy suits! Our suit jackets tend to be more fitted in the shoulder and bust. We are able to do this because we combine dressmaking fitting techniques with traditional men’s style tailoring," Kachmar explained.

Anderson & Sheppard

Dress your man (and yourself, if you can afford it) in style at Anderson & Sheppard, a London landmark on Saville Row since 1906. From a pinstriped double breasted jacket to a Seersucker single breasted jacket with white horn buttons, the tailors at Anderson & Sheppard will have you traveling in style.

If you can’t "cross the pond" for such an expenditure, head to the following U.S. destinations, where A&S will be in residence:

New York City
Apr. 28 - May 2

Washington DC
May 5 - 6

Boston
May 8 -9

Tomboy Tailors in San Francisco is another great option for a bespoke suit. This February they celebrate their one year anniversary of catering to women and men of any identity who enjoy wearing exceptionally made custom suits of the finest quality. But this isn’t just your go-to place for suiting. Tomboy Tailors can build almost any item of clothing, including fine coats, pants, dresses, skirts and ties.

Reserve a dual fitting for you and your partner and enjoy side-by-side made-to-measure service. But book early, because we’re not the only ones who love Tomboy Tailoring. The New York Times raved, "a source of empowerment for masculine women. It’s about feeling good in your clothes."
